Executive Summary
While Cambodia is undergoing rapid economic and social change, care and education services for children 0-6 years old are still largely inadequate or non-existent. Most children do not have the chance to develop their full potential. However, families, communities, and the government are concerned about their children’s well-being. With deep involvement, MAREC plans to scale their community daycare and preschool model, offering a high quality of education, health check-ups, and parental education. The curricula of the teachers will integrate innovative topics, such as no screens policy, gender equity, ordinary educational violence and learning through play, supported by online resources and tight coaching. A canteen program will also be piloted.
In several provinces, the professionals - teachers, health workers, and public education offices - will improve their abilities, families will develop their knowledge, and children from ages 0-6 years-old, of which at least 30% are vulnerable, will grow up in good care and educational conditions, acquiring the necessary foundations for their future life.
